Seniors Alone Guardianship and Advocacy Services (SAGAS) was formed in September 2019 as a 501C3 charitable organization to provide patient advocacy and guardianship services to two underserved market segments: low-income senior citizens and disabled adults.
Our team of registered nurses, social workers, attorneys, case managers and non-medical administrators provide the wide spectrum of services needed to aid this most vulnerable population.
Our parent company, NShore Patient Advocates, is a well-respected health care consulting firm. NShore consultants are registered nurses who advocate and manage care for private-pay patients in the Chicagoland area. NShore has achieved great success in using registered nurses as patient advocates and care managers, keeping patients with the ability to pay for service much safer.
The NShore team has significantly reduced hospital readmissions, improved quality of care and provided financial savings to patients by guiding clients through an increasingly complex healthcare system. Teri Dreher, president of NShore, passionately believes that every senior is valuable and should be honored, protected and supported through their challenges in health and self-care. Teri established SAGAS to enable isolated seniors with limited financial resources to access high- quality medical care and enjoy safe living environments as they age.

Teri is an RN with 36 years of experience. She has always been passionate about keeping the patient at the center of her nursing care, leading her to form NShore Patient Advocates, LLC in 2011. NShore is one of the first organizations of its kind in Chicagoland. With a background in critical care nursing and home-based health care, combined with experience as a cardiovascular nurse clinician, Teri knows the complexities and challenges of obtaining premium quality care, especially in fast-paced hospital settings. Having worked closely with physicians and ancillary health care team members at some of the country’s premier hospitals, Teri firmly believes in the principles of positive collaboration and the benefits of improved communication between patients and providers. Teri is committed to helping patients navigate acute illnesses and reducing the possibility of medical error. She has an eye for spotting details a lay person is unlikely to notice. Her book, Patient Advocacy Matters is now in it’s second printing and quickly became a best seller on Amazon.
